Shedding a few tears for Skype investor
NetworkWorld.com, 05/18/06
Venture capitalist Tim Draper of Draper Fisher Jurvetson recently told attendees at a conference in California that "Selling Skype was the saddest day of my year."
That statement got the attention of fellow VC Jeff Bussgang of IDG Ventures, who writes about the topic on his blog this week. Bussgang notes that he'd welcome a few such "saddest days."
Draper's broader point was that he felt Skype, which eBay snapped up in a multibillion deal, could have become huge if it stayed independent.
