123ContactForm makes forms easy

Most contact forms on Web sites are pretty simple and don't really do much. This is mainly because forms in general are a pain in the **** to build and maintain. There is, of course, a better way to do this and that is, of course, to outsource contact forms to a third party that specializes in such things.

My focus this week, 123ContactForm, is a company that offers just such a service.

Forms created with and deployed by 123ContactForm are more than just a pretty, easy to create version of the usual name, email address, etc., kind of forms - these forms can also be rule driven, can be themed, include images and Google maps, allow user file uploads, and can be integrated with Google Docs, MailChimp, Google Groups, Yahoo Groups, and Salesforce.

Forms can secured via SSL and can be enabled to take payments through PayPal, Authorize.net, and Google Checkout and forms can have a CAPCHA feature to prevent form spamming.

123ContactForm can also be used to provide forms on Blogger, Wordpress, and Facebook and there is support for third party application integration (such as having forms push their data to your own custom scripts on your own server).

Using 123ContactForm's online form builder makes the form creation process very simple and the results look very polished and "clean".

The rules feature allows you to specify whether fields should be hidden or displayed based on other fields selected by the user and submitted forms can be copied to the person filling it and to any email address, and are archived on the 123ContactForm server. You can also download form submissions in CSV and Excel format.

Form activity is tracked in detail and you can view real time charts and stats on how the form is used.

Three plans are available: Free, which allows for five forms, 10 fields per form, and 100 submissions each month; Gold, priced at $14.95 per month or $149.95 per year which provides 20 forms, unlimited fields per form, unlimited submissions each month, 500 MB storage for uploads, no backlink required, and third party apps integration; and Platinum, priced at $29.95 per month or $299.95 per year, supporting unlimited forms, unlimited fields per form, unlimited submissions each month, 2GB of storage for uploads, third party apps integration, payment integration, and SSL encryption. Non-profit organizations qualify for a 50% discount.

This is one of the nicest, cleanest forms services I've come across and is well worth checking out for your next Web Applications project.
