In its second news item, the company has announced "ShoreTel Remote Monitoring" as an around-the-clock service, proactively monitoring ShoreTel IP PBX products deployed on a customer's premise. According to a statement from Don Joos, VP of global services at ShoreTel, "system events and notifications can provide information for action before an end user experiences any problem. With this service it is possible to fix issues before they are even noticed." Remote Monitoring will be available for ordering by the end of the month.
In a separate initiative, ShoreTel has released the M5 Portal, designed to offer an enhanced customer administrative tool and business intelligence interface for its cloud phone system. M5 Portal will be free to all existing M5 customers. The portal gives individual users the access to set preferences such as personal call routing or manage voicemail. For managers, the M5 Portal provides access to business activities such as sales performance, service levels and staffing efficiency.
And in a fourth announcement ShoreTel, Polycom and HP Solutions have partnered to provide a promotional incentive for bundled offerings that include elements of each company's unified communications solutions. The offering includes on-premise, cloud and mobility solutions from ShoreTel, HP Networking solutions, and Polycom video and voice solutions.
