The Day VMware ate Cisco
Since the introduction of its hypervisor, VMware has been eating away, little by little, at the value Cisco products offer in the Data Center. With the introduction and growth of private clouds, increasing "co-opetition" between these tech titans has been inevitable, and VMware's acquisition of Nicira may have been the final strategic nail in the coffin of Cisco's current Data Center strategy. A few years from now, we may just be looking back at Monday as the day that VMware ate Cisco.
