Brought to my attention by the Twitter account of Mother Jones, the idea may have originated with Aaron Mehta, a writer for Defense News, who sent this tweet on Aug. 26:


Yet a Whois lookup shows the site was registered on Aug. 30 under the name of Ian Eppler of Montgomery, Ala., who most assuredly has his reasons. Whether we can count on him to keep the site current only time will tell.
