Though Apple CEO Steve Jobs' predilection for Mercedes Benz cars is well known, the above photo shows Jobs riding a 1966 R60/2 BMW Motorocycle circa 1982. The image first appeared in a issue of National Geographic highlighting life in Silicon Valley for tech's movers and shakers.
Jobs is quoted in the article expressing hope that Apple becomes the “Volkswagen of the Industry”. Talk about an understatement.
The article relays a quote from one of Jobs' friends who states, "In plaid shirt and jeans, [Jobs] still prefers to drive his motorcycle to my place, sit around and drink wine, and talk about what we’re going to do when we grow up.”
And if the above photo of Jobs has you curious about Jobs and his motorcycle riding ways, ABC News did a profile of Jobs in early 2010 where they showcased video footage of a young Jobs riding his bike through California. The video seems to load terribly slowly so beware.
Below are some screenshots of Jobs crusin' while wearing Adidas sneakers sans socks.
