I have to admit that since Windows Mobile 2003, I have had a Windows mobile device/Smartphone. Call me a creature of habit but there has been something comforting about having a scaled back Windows OS in my hand. I put up with the fact that Windows Mobile was lagging behind in the market and the fact that it took so long to get to onto a Smartphone. When the iPhone arrived I stood true and got another Windows Mobile device. This time it was an HTC with Windows Mobile 6 installed. The device did not have a touch screen but for the carrier I was with it was there 'best' WM 6 model. Let me say Windows Mobile on a Smartphone without touch screen is as useless as udders on a bull! But I persisted and waited for the arrival of Window Mobile 6.5, I bypassed the Android, scoffed at the iPhone (just can't bring myself to buy an Apple product) and waited for what I thought would finally be the Windows mobile OS that would blow me away. It didn't Windows Mobile 6.5 left me wondering why I waited so long. I just couldn’t go around fooling myself into thinking it would get any better. So I started researching iPhones last week as well. I decided to forego the entire war of the mobile OS and got myself a Samsung Impression. It has a touch screen, QWERTY keyboard, supports all four email accounts (one account I need to view via the browser), web browsing is fast, and the phone has some cool features and a pretty big screen. So I will sit back and wait for Windows Mobile 7 (or maybe I’ll get over the whole Apple thing)...but one thing is for sure Microsoft needs to either get better with Windows Mobile or get out of the market. My personal message to the Windows Mobile team...STOP TEASING ME and make a mobile OS worth buying.
