Cisco is expected to announce home videoconferencing/consumer telepresence products at the Consumer Electronics Show tomorrow in Las Vegas, according to TheRegister.com. The site says Cisco will show actual product - despite not yet closing the Tandberg deal and not exactly downscaling Cisco TelePresence to the Flip pocket videocam.
Speaking of Flip, it's also expected that Cisco will unveil a Wi-Fi version of the videocam at CES tomorrow as well.
If the reports are accurate, that will heat things up with IBM, which this week expanded its alliance with Polycom to offer cloud-based videoconferencing services as well as products.
