VMware on Wednesday announced the availability of VMware Go, a web-based service that allows small or medium businesses (SMBs) to virtualize servers and create running virtual machines with just a few clicks of a mouse. By automating the installation of the VMware ESXi hypervisor, the new web service provides an easy process for the virtualization of applications. As many as 1,000 beta testers have created thousands of virtual systems, proving the service’s viability. The three-step process first checks for hardware compatibility as it installs the hypervisor, then allows virtual machine creation and finally, provides virtual system control and monitoring from a central console.
