Cisco announces a string of WiMax deals in Eastern Europe

If WiMax is alive or dead depends on where in the globe you are standing, it seems. Yesterday, Cisco tried to steer the media's attention away from its dismal quarterly report and the fact that it is about to sell $4 billion in debt by unleashing a backlog of press releases about WiMax contracts in far-flung lands. Cisco says it has been contracted build WiMax services in Kazakhstan, in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg) and in Georgia.
