More on those layoffs...

Cisco confirmed that 250 people in San Jose were let go last week in the first wave of the company's potential 2,000 employee staff reduction...

But there were more worldwide.

Citing a Feb. 24 video blog on Cisco's internal Web site, sources say as many as 750 employees were cut. And reports filtering in from various regions reflect the impact.

Portsmouth, N.H., lost a Cisco office that employed 40; Research Triangle Park, N.C., lost 30 positions; and other facilities in Boxborough, MA., Milpitas, CA., and Austin, TX., were also affected, according to sources.

Cisco would not confirm the 750 figure.
