Wipe out those old hard drives with confidence

Perhaps the oddest task we have to undertake as IT professionals is securely erasing hard drives. We spend so much time and effort on keeping the data, that when the time comes to remove it, it almost seems unnatural. So really one of the worst parts of dealing with PC’s that needed to be replaced every three years was the problem of what to do with the old systems. Yes, you could donate them or sell them to a place that salvages old PC’s. But how can you be sure you have safely and securely removed all the data from that system. We all know that simply erasing the hard drive or re-installing the OS is no real guarantee that the data on that drive is unrecoverable. A great solution for IT Pro’s comes from a company called zoneLINK, the product is called SystemUp Eraser. The product can be used to erase files, directories, partitions or whole hard drives simply and quickly. Simply choose what you want to delete, choose one of the five different deletion methods (or customize your own) and then execute. SystemUp Eraser also includes signed deletion logs to provide both proof of file or media deletion and documentation for internal processes. Integrates into Widows Explorer, uses a wizard or simply drag and drop the items you want deleted. Download the 14 day trial of SystemUp Eraser 2009 today and check out the other cool security products offered by zoneLINK.
