Steve Nye - the Vice President and General Manager of Cisco's Service Provider Network Management Business Unit is leaving his position and a headhunter has been hired to seek a replacement for Nye according to a Cisco source. Earlier this year, Network World reported that Nye outsourced the U.S. jobs of 3 Cisco groups he managed to Tech Mahindra in India. Nye managed Cisco's service provider network management applications serving wireline, mobile wireless and cable providers. I can't help but wonder if Steve Nye is the Cisco executive that according to a rumor by Greentech Media Editor Michael Kanellos, is set to join Silver Spring Networks - which is a major smart grid competitor of Cisco.
