Enterprise Web 2.0 Fundamentals - Delivering Business Value

Part 1 in the Enterprise Web 2.0 Fundamentals Series

On May 8, 2007, as Cisco announced its third quarter fiscal year 2007 financial results, Chairman and CEO John Chambers commented on the importance of Web 2.0 to business, saying “this second phase of the Internet will drive the industry for the next decade from an innovation, productivity, personalization and process change perspective.” Cisco’s strategic consulting arm, Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), released research indicating that in fiscal year 2008 Cisco accrued Web 2.0-based benefits resulting in net savings of $691 million. Enterprise Web 2.0 Fundamentals, the book I recently co-authored for Cisco Press, describes how Cisco’s Mobile Web, the evolution of Web 2.0 @ Cisco, and Cisco’s approach to Sales 2.0 are delivering business value to Cisco, its customers and partners. Join me here to learn more about the exciting Cisco Web 2.0 story. I’m eager to hear your feedback as we explore the possibility, recognize the opportunity and realize the potential of Web 2.0 to deliver business value to your enterprise. Safe journey!
