Microsoft Gonna Mesh You Up

No, the blog post title isn't suffering from my typical bad spelling. I meant to say "mesh".

Some interesting tidbits were exposed this week by Ray Ozzie at a Microsoft developers event about Microsoft's plans to create a "mesh" with the apps and data that you use on your desktop, laptop, mobile phone, in the data center and in the cloud.

Erick Schonfeld has an EXCELLENT blog post summarizing Ozzie's presentation about this. Basically the story is about a mesh of web apps distributed on all the devices you use. More of what I call Microsoft's attempt to out-Google Google.

I won't repeat Erick's blog post but would definitely recommend you give it a read. This information is a huge insight into Microsoft's direction to transition their software from traditional embedded software apps.
