Target of 30 patent infringement suits last year, Cisco patent reform effort stalls in Senate

Cisco Patent Reform
Cisco a member of the lobbying group Coalition for Patent Fairness, had its effort stalled yesterday to secure a vote on patent reform legislation in the Senate. In 2007 alone, Cisco faced 30 patent infringement suits. The opposing sides of the Senate patent reform legislation were unable to come to terms on the issue of damages. Cisco's lobbying effort will continue with the Coalition for Patent Fairness, which will work with the bill’s Senate sponsors to bring the bill forward for a floor vote.
