Network behavior analysis vendor - Plixer International, announced yesterday the release of Scrutinizer v6.0 and is giving away a FREE professional version to all nonprofit schools, colleges and universities. Plixer's FREE offer expires on May 9th, 2008

"It is also a milestone celebration of having passed our 1000th customer using the commercial version of Scrutinizer."

New Plixer Scrutinizer v6.0 features include:

1. MyView for executive level reports and improved 3rd party integration with products such as WhatsUp Gold and Solarwinds Orion.
2. Improved collector performance scaling to several hundred routers and well over a 1000 interfaces. Over 20,000 flows per second.
3. Support for distributed Scrutinizer collectors to a central interface.
4. Support for Windows Vista, 2008 Server and Linux (view the complete list).

Plixer is also giving away more features in their free version (i.e. QoS, Application Groups and Autonomous System trends).
