Cisco consummates agreement with CXtec
Legendary reseller CXtec made the strategic decision this month to lose 30% of their annual revenue and layoff 2 score of their employees in order to consummate a standard indirect channel partner agreement with Cisco. This sends a clear message to the reseller community and UNEDA - United Network Equipment Dealer Association members that partnering with Cisco must offer a compelling strategic advantage. Cisco's response to yours truly regarding their agreement with CXtec: "CXtec had a legacy and non-standard indirect channel partner agreement with Cisco that expired on November 30, 2007." "Cisco requested, and CXtec agreed, to a standard indirect channel partner agreement moving forward." "Cisco is working closely with CXtec to ensure a seamless transition and continue the successful partnership between our two companies for 2008 and beyond."

Frank Kobuszewski
"We’ve positioned ourselves for growth and are creating a Cisco-only division to better serve our Cisco customers," said Frank Kobuszewski - Vice President of the CXtec Technology Solutions Group. "We’ve been working with Cisco since the Cisco-pro days and have evolved our relationship and partnership almost every year."

"Our company’s been around for 30 years and have strong roots in the remarketing and cabling/data center industries." "In fact, one of our closest working relationships is with the remarketing team at Cisco Capital."

Do YOU think CXtec made the right strategic decision consummating their agreement with Cisco?
