Cisco recently held a conference call where they provided a state of the WAN optimization market

George Kurian, VP of Cisco's application delivery division, recently held a conference call where he provided a state of the WAN optimization market along with an overview of Cisco's WAAS 4.1 release.  Riverbed's Bob Gilbert had some interesting comment in his blog below.

While you have to love these Cisco guys for putting on a good face and having a conference call, it still makes you wonder does anyone get it at Cisco? If I had any part of my customer base that said they had an issue, that would make me worry and fix it. I would not say it was a bias sampling of my customer base; it is like you are saying these are just problem customers and you did not sample the good customers?

I still think we need to have a show down at Interop this year between all the vendors. We have plenty of time to set up a comparison and get everyone involved.
