Vonnegut's MIT commencement

It had been quite some time since I read Kurt Vonnegut's amusingly insightful commencement speech to the MIT class of 1997. Maybe you'll recall the opening line about sunscreen or his advice to keep old love letters and toss old bank statements.

Hopefully, you'll also remember that the speech never happened. ... The Internet cannot only play tricks with the mind but also history, if we're not careful.

(Update: This speech of his from the 1998 Rice University commencement appears to be legit. I'm sure we'll hear from a few Owls if that's not the case.)
