Apple confirms September 9 event: iPhone 6 and new wearable device on the horizon

Well it's official, folks. As previously rumored, Apple today sent out invitations to select outlets for a special media event slated to take place on September 9. Word of the official announcement was first relayed by The Loop which posted the above photo of the invite.

With the tagline "Wish we could say more", the invitation certainly leaves a whole lot to the imagination. The event itself will kick off at 10 AM Pacific Time at the Flrint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino. Notably, most Apple events take place at either Apple's Cupertino campus or at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

It's widely believed that Apple will use the occasion to announce two brand new iPhone models, and according to a post yesterday from Re/Code, the event will also introduce the world to Apple's long rumored wearable device, a product some have prematurely referred to as the "iWatch."
