Avaya\'s IP Office Release 5

Key features: The new IP Office software supports failover if one of the units dies, another unit at another site can pick up its duties routing calls and delivering voice mail. The new release also supports more call center reporting to track how well agents perform, how many calls are arriving, waiting and lost. IP Office now supports Web access to Avaya One-x Portal, an application that allows end users to manage calls. IP Office is now available on just one platform, the IP Office 500 System. Two other smaller devices have been discontinued.

L-1-Identity Solutions 4G V-Station Extreme

Key features: Designed for access control in the rain, sleet, snow and desert conditions. This IP 65 rated solution is built to perform in moderate to the most extreme outdoor conditions. Tipping Point 110 and 330

Key features: Scaled for deployment in smaller settings than earlier Tipping Point devices. The company says it is trying to give customers intrusion-prevention systems that fit in a wide variety of settings, from small offices to the gaps between internal security zones to zones secured between two firewalls at the network perimeter.

AXIS P5534 PTZ Dome Network Camera

Key features: Offers HDTV-quality video and 18x zoom for indoor surveillance applications. Its IP51-rated protection against dust and dripping water, make it ideal for use at airports, train stations, warehouses, shops and schools. More info.

Key features: AXIS P8221 Network I/O Audio Module provides eight configurable input/output (I/O) ports and audio capabilities to a network video system that either does not have such support or require additional support. More info.

Seagate Technology Barracuda XT

Key features: This new 3.5-inch desktop hard drive is designed for gaming, digital video and other storage-intensive desktop applications. The drive is 7,200 RPM with 2TB of storage and a SATA 6Gbps interface. More info.

MaxiScale Flex Software

Key features: Storage software platform is designed for the demanding file-serving needs of Internet-facing applications, such as online advertising, social networks and software-as-a-service. Flex runs on commodity hardware, such as 2TB SATA drives, and is supposed to provide dramatic reduction in space and power requirements. More info.

Aruba AP-105

Key features: Two-radio 802.11n access point; Aruba holds down costs by using two pairs of antennas instead of three, one instead of two gigabit Ethernet ports, only existing 802.3af PoE, and a slower CPU. Data rate for each radio up to 300Mbps. Vendor claims it's the lowest list price for an enterprise 802.11n product of this type. More info.

Brocade DCX Backbone

Key features: Brocade is expanding its DCX Backbone product line with two new blades: the FX8-24 Extension Blade, which is "designed to connect two or more data centers to enhance business continuity and disaster recovery"; and the FCoE 10-24 Blade, which "provides Fibre Channel over Ethernet capabilities for server I/O consolidation in the data center." Key features: F-Secure Internet Security 2010, with Windows 7 support, offers 70% less memory consumption, 60% faster scanning speeds, a task-focused user interface, and new features to automate and enhance consumers' online safety. More info.

CA Database Management r12 for DB2 for z/OS

Key features: Uses the automation installation and maintenance functions of CA's Mainframe 2.0 technology, leveraging CA Mainframe Software Manager Services, including the Product Acquisition Service, which helps simplify software retrieval, and the Software Installation Service, which utilizes an intuitive GUI and Installation Wizard for software implementation.
