HP, Continuity Software, and Tandberg aired new products this week.

Mozilla\'s Firefox 3.0

Key features: A laundry list of new security features including one-click to identify Web site owners, validated connections to prevent eavesdropping and malware protection. Also features easier navigation, simpler RSS subscriptions and improved performance. Some feel it's still something of a memory hog.

Tandberg E20 Video IP Phone

Key features: 10.6-inch screen, DVD-quality video, CD-quality audio, speakerphone capability. This is an IP desk phone that can take the place of your existing desk phone but is built from the ground up for video calls. Supports AES-128 encryption for security and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and other standards for interoperability.

CiRBA Data Center Intelligence (DCI) 5.0

Key features: DCI 5.0 enables IT managers to build models of existing environments and apply pre-packaged and customized analysis to the environment. The software, once used primarily to plan for migration and capacity, can now run in a continuous mode, offering insight into change impact and potential areas for optimization.

HP Integrity NonStop NB50000c BladeSystem

Key features: Similar to the mainframe, HP's NonStop line of servers is a highly fault-tolerant system designed for mission-critical applications that can't tolerate any downtime. This new version marks the first time HP has offered the NonStop in the blade form factor. HP's also offering free servers to customers who migrate finance applications from a mainframe to the NonStop BladeSystem.

Continuity Software RecoverGuard 3.0

Key features: The latest version of the software provides features that detect and correct disaster recovery vulnerabilities and threats in their EMC VMware virtualized environments. RecoverGuard 3.0 also adds host configuration gap detection, enhanced integration with configuration management databases and ticket management systems, and support for Oracle Data Guard and Hitachi Data Systems platforms.

HP Business Availability Center 7.5

Key features: The updated software suite now includes a dashboard view that HP says aligns IT closer to the business by displaying open incidents, calculating monetary impact and tracking business transaction health as related to the business services.
