GENBAND picks Vidyo for Smart Office video features

GENBAND announced that it has selected Vidyo to enable the multi-party video features for its Smart Office Unified Communications (UC) solution. By integrating the VidyoWorks platform, GENBAND intends to enhance users’ collaboration experience by making it even easier to escalate phone calls to high quality multi-point video calls with screen sharing.

VidyoWorks software-based architecture runs on off-the-shelf hardware and in virtual computing environments with scalability that meets the capacity and industry-specific needs of GENBAND Smart Office UC clients including business, government, education and healthcare customers.

The VidyoWorks platform also comes with APIs that help developers build a variety of features and applications to integrate visual communication into evolving workflows and business processes, also enabling new devices and form factors to leverage the VidyoWorks platform.

Commenting in a statement, Carl Baptiste, Senior Vice President of Unified Communications and Enterprise Product Line Management at GENBAND said, “Vidyo’s advanced SVC-based video conferencing technology gives our Smart Office UC solution a competitive advantage over other unified communications offerings in the market. Our service provider and enterprise customers get a more efficient deployment architecture and their users get a better experience, even on 3G/4G connected mobile clients or constrained networks.”

Vidyo CEO Eran Westman added, “Vidyo’s integration with GENBAND’s Smart Office will provide a powerful offering that combines best-in-class real time communications solutions with the highest-quality video technology people have come to know and rely upon through Vidyo. GENBAND is a global leader in software-based real time communications solutions for service providers, enterprises, system integrators and developers and this integration with the VidyoWorks platform is another example of how Vidyo is driving change to enrich the communications experience with face-to-face interaction.”
