Would you like to analyze Census data about IT workers yourself? Download this zipped file of data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) 2010-2014 PUMS (Public Use Microdata Samples) data.

The original Census Bureau file used by Computerworld in our story about gender in IT included more than 15 million records of all ACS survey respondents. The zip file available for download includes a subset of those 15 million records: a CSV file with 138,172 records from all respondents who reported a job in one of the following professions: Computer & IS Managers, Comp & IS Research, Computer Systems Analysts, Infosecurity Analysts, Programmers, Software Developers, Web Developers, Tech Support, Database Administrators, Network & System Administrators, Network Architects and Computer Other.

The file also includes the Census Bureau's data dictionary explaining various the columns and codes in the file.
