Did Chambers get out done by a rival again?
I have been called all afternoon about the rumor that Juniper is buying a rival Riverbed. While this comes out as a shocking even,t it is really not hard to believe as the Juniper product is not that good. But is it true or just a rumor? If true I am really surprised if this does not turn into a bidding war between Cisco and Juniper if someone really wants to take over the company. Chambers could use some of those billions he has off shore that I am sure is just waiting to be invested into more India projects. So if the rumor is true it will be a shame as the staff at Riverbed has done a good job and will just be swallowed up by a bigger company. If you look at the way Juniper and Riverbed have managed their wan acceleration products it is a wonder they have not tried to buy Riverbed before now.
If Juniper does buy Riverbed and the rumors are true, they will have one up on Cisco again in a space where Cisco is a number three now. Remember we did not start the rumor as you can see below just reporting on it.
