Vidyo announced last week that it now has a mobile video conferencing app with the release of VidyoMobile for iOS 4.x on iPads, iPhones and the iPod Touch available from the Apple App Store. The application allows Vidyo’s enterprise customers include mobile workers as participants in company video conferences from iOS or Android mobile devices. Vidyo already provides HD video conferencing access from laptops, desktops, telepresence and HD room systems (including interoperability with Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg and other H.323 and SIP endpoints).
VidyoMobile is designed for business customers using either Vidyo’s software-based infrastructure through their enterprise IT department or through service providers who offer the company’s video solution as a service. Users who have access to either the hosted or premise-based Vidyo service need to download the mobile app from the appropriate store and log in to their existing account to use VidyoMobile on their mobile device. VidyoMobile for iOS 4.x is available now and support for the iPhone 4S will be coming soon. VidyoMobile for Android smartphones and tablets is in beta and will be available for select certified devices in November. Service packages and pricing vary by provider and region.

As with other Vidyo endpoints, VidyoMobile can participate in conferences with more than 100 participants, displaying up to four participants at a time on the iPad 2, along with the ability to customize the view and select presentation materials. Participants can also use the active speaker feature to automatically display the current and last few speakers.
