Siemens Enterprise Communications announced today that it has improved its OpenScape Office and HiPath 3000 UC Solutions with additional features designed to improve efficiency and mobility for SMBs. The company’s UC suite upgrades include enhanced mobility, tablet client, Web collaboration capabilities and more flexible deployment options.
Upgrades to the OpenScape Office and the HiPath 3000 voice platform have added a new UC client for tablets, OpenScape Web Collaboration and a UC plug-in for Microsoft Outlook 2010. Mobility: OpenScape Office’s latest features for enhanced mobility are designed to supporting the increased use of smartphones and tablets. OpenScape Web Collaboration extends capabilities targeting the SMB by creating a virtual office via desktop and document sharing, as well as video conferencing. OpenScape Web Collaboration can also be used from mobile devices.

Voice and UC networking between OpenScape Office and the newest version of HiPath 3000 are designed to simplify existing customer’s transition from voice to UC. OpenScape Office LX and HX can also now support server software virtualization with VMware.

In other new product news coming from Toshiba, the company announced it has added Toshiba IP4000 series wireless SIP DECT telephones to its line of IP telephones, thus offering more mobility choices to accompany Toshiba’s IPedge and Strata CIX IP business communication systems.
Eric Abing, product manager, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division, commented in a statement saying, “The IP4000 series solution provides a cost-effective in-building wireless solution built on proven DECT 6.0 technology and offers many features that customers are asking for today, including a two-inch color display and longer talk time for the IP4100 model.”
