Two recent news items make the highlights today: IntelePeer has launched new SIP trunking bundled service offerings, and Genband has made another acquisition — this time buying gateway technology via Aztek Networks.
IntelePeer has announced its latest new service offer with its CoreCloud Unified Communications (UC) Bundles for SIP Trunking. Two new SIP Trunking packages are designed to replace traditional per-minute UC SIP trunking prices with all-in-one inclusive packages — including a priced-per-user UC SIP trunking package. The new bundles include an option for IntelePeer’s “CoreCloud UC Basic” and “CoreCloud UC Wireless.” IntelePeer’s SIP trunking service is included with each package, providing connectivity between legacy and next-generation solution; the company’s SIP trunking service is certified and deployed with UC vendors such as Avaya, Microsoft Lync, Siemens and Cisco.

With the per-user pricing option that comes with UC Basic, customers can count up the number of users they want on their UC system and purchase the equivalent number of CoreCloud UC bundles. The CoreCloud UC Wireless bundle, geared for enterprises with a mobile workforce, is available on a port basis and includes all calling to mobile devices for a flat monthly fee.

In other news, Genband announced it has strengthened its portfolio with the acquisition of Aztek Networks, a supplier of switch consolidation and network migration solutions. The acquired line access technology acquired is meant to help operators eliminate legacy TDM sites, consolidate and modernize their core network. Genband gains the Aztek 5000-series, which will be supported and marketed under the Genband G5 platform brand. Aztek Networks, which had been privately held, was founded in 1982 as Aztek Engineering and is based in Boulder, Colo.
Commenting in a statement, Charlie Vogt, Genband president and CEO, said, “The Aztek acquisition strategically enhances our network transformation capabilities with both innovative technology and talent. We welcome Aztek customers, employees and solutions to the GENBAND family and look forward to offering the G5 platform, which is fully integrated into our network transformation portfolio.”
