More news highlights from the Enterprise Connect conference just concluded in Orlando, Fla.: Siemens Enterprise Communications (along with Enterasys) announced three new deployment options, Skype and Citrix have a new conferencing partnership, and Aastra unveiled a new video conferencing solution.
Siemens Enterprise Communications and Enterasys revealed three new deployment options:
• OpenScape Cloud Solutions: designed for the enterprise market providing cloud-based unified communications and collaboration (including a mobile UC client for Android and OpenScape Fusion for Google Apps).

• Enterasys Cloud Wireless and Services: offering alternatives for implementing and managing enterprise cloud wireless solutions, with new options for premise-based, cloud-based and managed services.
• OpenScape Office v3.0: targeted for the SMB market with improved unified communications and collaboration (UCC) voice and conferencing services, presence, mobility, social networking and multichannel contact center capabilities.
Skype and Citrix announced a strategic partnership that aims to enable Skype with new Web and audio conferencing capabilities using GoToMeeting technology from Citrix. The planned features are expected to supplement the Skype for Business desktop experience, which already provides instant messaging, voice and video calling, group video calling, conferencing, file sharing and more. Skype’s new Web conferencing and audio features are expected to become available toward the end of the year. The new GoToMeeting capability will also give Skype’s business users online audio conferencing access so users can join via Skype or through public switched telephone network (PSTN) phone numbers.
In other news from Enterprise Connect, Aastra touted its latest video conferencing solution, featuring The BluStar 8000i desktop media phone that combines HD video conferencing with unified communications and business applications. The product delivers HD 720p HD video conferencing, and “with the touch of a button” teams can gather to share documents and content between a desktop PC and the Aastra BluStar 8000i; a Bluetooth interface facilitates the simple transfer of data from mobile phones. The product integrates Aastra’s unified communications and other third-party applications.
