IEEE Communications Society's GreenCom will burn up some computing cycles but won't require attendees to travel
The 40,000-plus member IEEE Communications Society will hold the first of what it hopes will be an annual IEEE Online Conference on Green Communications (GreenCom) on Sept. 26 – 29.
The event will feature interactive webcasted presentations by experts in networking, energy management, smart grids and more from organizations such as Ericsson, Samsung and the Royal Institute of Technology. More specifically, topics of discussion will include WiFi network energy consumption behaviors, the GRIDA backbone network scheme and how to minimize base station power consumption.
Registration costs between $75 and $325 depending on whether you are a student, ComSoc or IEEE member, and when you register.
