As previously rumored, Apple’s long-awaited iPhone event will take place on October 4th at Apple’s campus in Cupertino. Apple sent out invitations to select media outlets yesterday. Per Apple’s style, the invite is incredibly simple and merely relays the date, time, and location of the event by way of iOS app icons.

You’ll also note that Apple’s phone icon is sporting a badge with the number “1” on it, prompting some to speculate that Apple will only be releasing one iPhone model this Fall. It might be a stretch, but Apple has been known to put cryptic clues in its special media event invitations.
While specific details regarding Apple’s next-gen iPhone remain unclear, we can probably count on the inclusion of an A5 processor along with an 8 megapixel camera.
