Wireless Hall welcomes pioneers in cellular technology to its ranks

Irwin Jacobs, co-founder of Qualcomm and chairman of the 2011 Wireless Hall of Fame dinner held Oct. 10 in San Diego, introduced four wireless executives inducted into the Wireless Hall of Fame:
- Clayton Niles, former chairman of Communications Industries and leader in early cellular regulation;
- Robert Marino, former president of cellular companies in the United States and Argentina and chairman of Syniverse;
- Constance Pohs, representing her deceased husband, Arnold Pohs, former chairman and CEO of CommNet Cellular; and
- Nick Kauser, former CTO of Rogers Cantel, McCaw Cellular Communications, AT&T Wireless Services, and Clearwire.

About 350 people attended the sold-out event, including Sprint CEO Dan Hesse, Craig McCaw of Eagle River Investments and John Stanton of Clearwire.
