Organizing committee tosses Ticketmaster under the bus, too
Ticketmaster is taking a beating in Great Britain today after being forced to suspend an online sale of tickets for this year’s Olympic Games.
The Telegraph of London reports:
The flawed system left thousands of potential buyers and sellers of tickets angry and frustrated, and prompted the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games to lay the blame squarely at the door of their ticketing partner Ticketmaster.
Ticketmaster has provided all the infastructure for the heavily criticised Olympic ticket process but until now Locog has defended its involvement.
That position shifted on Friday night after Locog’s attempts to discover what was wrong with the system were frustrated by a lack of information from Ticketmaster. Some customers were able to purchase tickets using the website, which is intended to allow people who no longer want tickets to resell them using an official channel.

That last one made me giggle, but I get the sense this will be no laughing matter for Ticketmaster.
