RIAA exec gives SOPA foes fresh reason to dislike RIAA

Cheap shot at Wikipedia not only unnecessary but stupid to boot

One minor reason that SOPA is so reviled by so many is that a number of the bill’s supporters – such as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) – seem to go out of their way to push the public’s buttons, be it through their actions or words.

This morning, Gizmodo notes, Jonathan Lamy, the RIAA’s senior VP of communications, chose words, sending this obnoxious tweet about Wikipedia:

As noon approaches, it would seem as though that tweet has been removed, which makes the RIAA wiseguy not only a ham-handed hack but a cowardly one. (Also, given that his account has only 167 followers, you can add lonely and irrelevant … unless it’s a fake account, which can never be discounted on Twitter.)

Meanwhile, Twitter users are having fun tweaking the guy about his “blackrout” typo.
