To help add its own perspective to allegations of horrid working conditions at Foxconn, Apple allowed ABC's Nightline unprecedented access to a Foxconn factory responsible for churning out iPads
It’s no secret that Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner in China, has long been at the center of controversy due to allegations of questionable working conditions. Furthermore, you might remember a period of time not too long ago where there were a rash of employee suicides at Foxconn, a problem which drew so much attention it prompted Foxconn to install safety nets outside of employee dormitories to prevent future attempts.
More recently, the New York Times released an, at times, scathing expose as to the working conditions within Foxconn. And while Foxconn is responsible for assembling devices for all sorts of companies, Apple, as the largest and most successful company in tech these days, tends to draw the bulk of the criticism.
To help combat the image put forth by the Times, Apple allowed ABC’s Nightline unprecedented access to a Foxconn factory responsible for churning out iPads.
