endif; ?>LivingSocial, arguably Groupon‘s top competitor in the in the public coupon space, is rolling out a new food-ordering service for mobile users that will provide them with instant deals on eating options.
The service is called “Takeout and Delivery” and is launching in 26 markets and included over 2,700 restaurants.
LivingSocial will compete with Seamless.com and GrubHub others that let people place food orders online and avoid the phone. Demand for such services has grown as people conduct more of their lives online…
LivingSocial‘s biggest competitor, Groupon Inc., also has been looking into ways to expand beyond its daily emails. It has an instant-deals service called Groupon Now and recently launched an online scheduling tool that lets customers book appointments with small businesses more easily.”
This is similar to GrouponNow, a feature Groupon implemented a few months back which alerts users to daily deals in their area with built in time constraints. For instance, you might be walking down the street and upon opening your Groupon app note that the taco shop across the street has a $6 for $10 worth of food coupon available for only the next 2 hours.
And now that feature is coming to Living Social.
