Spotted in Google Books

So this afternoon I find myself looking at Google Books – which many a time has proven to be a treasure trove of pre-Internet published materials – and this line-up of “Classics” and “Magazines” catches my eye.

books

The picture may be a bit difficult to read, so we have:

  • Wuthering heights by Emily Bronte
  • Walden by Henry David Thoreau
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
  • The Return of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  • Four obviously classic LIFE magazine covers

And … the Weekly World News reporting that an Australian chap had given birth to a 7-pound girl.

Classic is in the eye of the beholder.
