Now, there is no shortage of reports pointing to an iPhone 5 with a larger display. Specifically, a few trustworthy sources have indicated the iPhone 5 will sport a 4-inch screen with a 16:9 aspect ration. Consequently, Apple will achieve a larger screen by elongating the device but keeping the width the same.

With that said, a video from an iPhone parts supplier surfaced last week claiming to show the outer frame of the iPhone 5. The video of the frame indicates that the iPhone 5 will, in fact, be taller and thinner than the iPhone 4S. And yes, it’s possible that this is just a frame from an iPhone prototype Apple won’t ever be releasing, but the video in conjunction with the deluge of rumors all pointing to a larger iPhone leads me to believe that the video is rather telling.
Some points of interest from the video is that the “device” incorporates a smaller dock connector, as was previously rumored. Also, a tad smaller is the SIM card tray. Other tidbits include a headphone jack relocated to the bottom of device, which while new for the iPhone, is the status quo for the iPod Touch. And as the video above shows, the next-gen iPhone appears to be significantly thinner than the current iPhone 4S.
In about 48 hours, Apple will unveil iOS 6 to the world and we’ll get a glimpse into the OS that will power the next-gen iPhone, which will likely be released during the Fall.
