Aerofex video wows with futuristic floating craft
A California company called Aerofex has launched a video of what appears to be a rider-controlled hovercraft, conjuring up images of Anakin Skywalker zipping along in a pod racer across the desert. The Aerofex creation is reportedly controlled by the pilot leaning his or her body in the direction he or she wants to go, like on a bike. One nice feature, according to the company, is the ability of the craft to push away dust and debris to avoid the sort of brownout that helicopter pilots can experience.
The company tells Innovation News Daily that it has no immediate plans to deliver a manned version of its craft, seeing the rotor-powered machine as having nearer-term potential for unmanned drones.
