Search engine results are sharing Apple's iPhone 5 secrets.
Prior to today’s official iPhone 5 announcement, Apple has accidentally leaked some information that it typically keeps under wraps until its official events.
First noticed by 9to5Mac, the search engine on Apple’s website is returning results that ruin a few surprises for Apple’s big announcement today. Searches for “iPhone-5”, “iPhone-LTE”, and “iPod-Touch” return inactive URLs for yet-to-be-published press releases confirming all of these previously rumored announcements.
The dates in the URLs are key. It basically shows the headlines to Apple’s press releases before they’re published.
However, as one commenter on this 9to5Mac article pointed out, searches for the term “iPhone-NFC” don’t return any results. The same can be said for searching “iPhone-near-field-communications” as well.
It looks like one rumored feature to Apple’s next big thing may be proven false this afternoon.
