And once again the technology world celebrates with understated indifference
Last year’s post about Programmer Day focused on the unmistakable lack of enthusiasm for Programmer Day.
Three hundred and sixty-five days later, we are here to report that Programmer Day is upon us anew … and again with precious little fanfare.
I did find one story marking the occasion … on a site called I Programmer, which must feel some sort of obligation.
There are tweets — #programmerday — but nothing of the volume you might see on Sysadmin Day … or, of course, Star Wars Day.
One of my brothers is a programmer and I thought about calling him to wish him a happy Programmer Day … but then I remembered that at the moment he is between programmer jobs and hence not in a happy Programmer Day kind of place.
Maybe next year.
