Barcode turns 60, doesn’t look its age

While not a big infographic fan, I found this one marking the 60^th anniversary of the barcode to be worth the time to read.  I was particularly surprised to learn that barcodes didn’t begin to appear in grocery stores until 1974, also known as the year before I graduated from high school.
