Samsung might have something exciting in store at CES this year

With CES scheduled to get under way on January 8, HDTVs will likely take center stage as the battle for control of the living room rages on. And while Apple’s long-rumored HDTV most definitely will not be making an appearance, Samsung recently put out a teaser for what it has in store for us this year.

The caption to the photo Samsung uploaded below reads, “A true innovation of TV design is coming up with an unprecedented new TV shape and timeless gallery design… Samsung TV @ CES 2013.”

Well color me intrigued. Samsung, in my opinion, by far has the best looking HDTVs out on the market both in terms of picture quality and actual design. As for the unprecedented new TV shape, well the photo certainly leaves that open to interpretation. The most obvious takeaway is that the display in the photo above is in portrait mode as opposed to landscape.

And to add to the pre-CES buildup, Samsung also released the following video regarding their upcoming 2013 TV lineup.
