Well, it seems that Microsoft still hasn't fully learned its lesson, which is to say that product specs in and of themselves don't sell hardware.

Well, it seems that Microsoft still hasn’t fully learned its lesson, which is to say that product specs in and of themselves don’t sell hardware. In a recently released ad, Microsoft compares a Windows 8 Tablet against the iPad. While the ad does touch on specs, it does also, to its credit, cover real-world uses, such as multitasking.

I don’t think the ad really will do much of anything to stem the tide of iPads and Android-based tablets, but given Microsoft’s current position, it has no option other than to call out the top players.
