Apple sends out invites for October 22 special event; New iPads and OS X Mavericks likely to take center stag

It's official. Apple will be holding a special media event on October 22 where the company is expected to reveal a revamped iPad lineup and more.

Apple today sent out invitations to a special event scheduled to take palce on October 22 at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. Per usual, the event will kick off at 10 a.m Pacific TIme.

So what’s on the docket? 

Well rumor has it that the event will be multi-faceted. There’s a good chance we’ll see a refresh to Apple’s iPad lineup. Specifically, some reports indicate that the iPad Mini will be graced with a Retina Display. As for other possible announcements, expect to see some announcements relating to OS X Mavericks and the highly anticipated new Mac Pro.
