Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Apple CEO Tim Cook last week with a tweet from Netanyahu's Twitter account suggesting that discussions may have centered on cyber defense issues.
Originally reported by 9to5Mac, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Apple CEO Tim Cook last week following a keynote speech at the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC. While it’s unclear what the two leaders chatted about, a subsequent tweet from Netanyahu’s Twitter account suggests that discussions may have centered on cyber defense issues.

The video was originally posted by the official “IsraeliPM” YouTube account, and while nothing special in and of itself, it does provide a rare glimpse behind the secretive walls of 1 Infinite Loop.
On a related note, Apple over the past few years has shown an increased interest in Israeli-based technology companies. Recall that Apple in January of 2012 acquired Anobit Technologies, an Israeli-based semiconductor company specializing in flash memory. More recently, Apple acquired PrimeSense, the purveyors of 3D sensor technology popularized by Microsoft’s Kinect.
