Company's astonishing tale of success continues unabated
A couple of things struck me this afternoon when reading about Apple’s stock price surpassing $300 for the first time.
The first had to do with the company’s financial standing among the corporate elite, as described by Associated Press:
In fact, Apple’s market cap is now in third place behind Exxon Mobil Corp. and No. 1 Telecom Brasil SA among every company traded on U.S. stock exchanges. Big-name corporations such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and General Electric Co. don’t even come close.
The second remarkable nugget from the news coverage was that Apple’s stock was selling below $200 as recently as February.
Congratulations to any and all with the foresight (and the funds) to have bought then.
