This video demonstrates the configuration of Low Latency Queuing on a Cisco router.
In our previous video, we configured CB-WFQ to give different amounts of bandwidth to different classes of traffic. However, something that CB-WFQ lacks is a priority queue, out of which priority traffic can be sent first.
Fortunately Low Latency Queuing (LLQ) adds a priority queue to CB-WFQ, and traffic placed in that priority queue can be sent first, up to a point. You see, in addition to guaranteeing priority treatment to traffic, LLQ also polices that priority traffic, such that it doesn’t starve out other traffic types.
This video demonstrates the configuration of LLQ. However, as we’ll see, LLQ alone might not be sufficient to completely resolve our voice quality issue. We might have to continue building on our solution in a future video.
