Although whether you can see it on Google.com right now depends where you are
While I would expect a Google Doodle video honoring silent film star Charlie Chaplin to be absent of dialogue, the fact that it’s just plain absent from Google’s homepage – at least as of this moment in Massachusetts – is somewhat odd.
According to Twitter chatter, though, it appears to be a case of limited release, as the homepage doodle and accompanying video are live in Europe and elsewhere. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
The video, which is quite clever, is also available for all to see on YouTube. And here:
Google’s creation is intended to mark Chaplin’s 122nd birthday. He was born on April 16, 1889. Today is April 15. I would presume The Little Tramp will show up on Google in the U.S. soon enough.
